See You At the "Great Water" Premiere!
RSVP to be among the first people to see the documentary of the 2024 Mishigami Challenge - ahead of the start of the 2025 race.
If you haven’t seen it already, there is a trailer for the race documentary for the 2024 Mishigami Challenge! The race film is called “Great Water,” a translation of the Ojibwe word “mishigami” for which the race (and Lake Michigan) is named.
I have not seen the documentary yet, though obviously I have some familiarity with the material in it. But I do know that Jack Peck and Cody Schlabaugh have put a ton of work into it.
Like everyone else, I’m looking forward to the official release…which is coming up soon!
Wednesday, July 9 at 6:30pm - Specialized Fulton Market
If you’re in the Chicago area, “Great Water” will premiere publicly with a showing at the Specialized store in Fulton Market, which is also the start/finish line of the Mishigami Challenge.
The event is free (there is a $10 suggested donation), but you’ll need to reserve your tickets.
Although I am deep in the planning and prep for the 2025 Mishigami Challenge (and there’s a lot more coming here very, very soon), I’m looking forward to this look back at last year’s race.
If you’re not in Chicago, the film should be up on the Midwest Ultra Cycling YouTube channel in short order, although I don’t have an exact date for that.
